Day of the Dead is a horror film which is remake of George A. Romero's classic zombie film of the same name, which was the third in Romero's Dead series. The film is directed by Steve Miner and written by Jeffrey Reddick.
Although not interrelated, it features rapidly heartbreaking zombies alike to Zack Snyder's previous updated version of Dawn of the Dead as different to the gradually slowly shuffling zombies of the original Romero series.
It was initially place for theatrical distribution, but was instead released directly to video. The film was principally shot in Bulgaria, with limited shooting in Los Angeles, California. Tyler Bates provided the soundtrack, and screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick has a cameo manifestation as an ill-fated police officer.

Short details of the story
In Leadville, Colorado, Captain Rhodes and his army seals off the town to restrain an influenza-type epidemic. The locals are not permitted to depart the town and the Pine Valley Medical Center is packed out with ailing people. Corporal Sarah Bowman was born and raised in Leadville and goes to her residence with Private Bud Crain to visit her mother. Sarah finds that her mother is unwell and takes her to the local hospital.
However, the sick people unexpectedly change in flesh eating, fast moving zombies which assault the non-infected humans. Sarah, Bud and Private Salazar get a jeep and head to the town exit to get away from the dead. But Sarah hears the voice of her brother, Trevor, on the radio and is compelled to go to the radio station where Trevor is veiled with his girlfriend Nina. The group of survivors drives to the remote Nike factory seeking shelter, where they discover a secretive army base.
